Mortgage Application Process
The first step in obtaining a mortgage is the bank application.  Here the bank requires the property deeds and
surveys so they can appraise the property and advise on the amount they can cover for the mortgage.  The
buyer requires to provide 2 years of tax declarations from their home country translated to English (or Greek)
and a VAT number (see the Important Information page on how to obtain a VAT number).  After appraisal
the and initial acceptance (which takes about 1 month to process), the lender can take a copy of the new
deeds and the loan will be processed,  Sometimes it takes about 2 weeks to 2 months for the seller to receive
their money.  This does not stop the process since the deeds stipulate the bank's guarantee and an
